Football playground and Sport Hall in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí

Football has very deep roots in Frýdlant. The beginning of the sport in our town dates back to 1921. Several sport enthusiasts become pioneers of football in the city under the guidance of SC Frýdlant. By the end of the 1920s, there was a great expansion of football in town. Many small amateur clubs were being formed, for example CZ Vincek Hamer Cukor, SK Odeon Papiereň, Viktoria, Kamenec, Kopec I, Kopec II, Paseky, Nová Dědina, Obecný a Argentína. These clubs were fighting between each other for the championship of Frýdlant and many great players have begun in these teams who spread the glory of the town.
In 1931, SSF – Sport Society Frýdlant was officially founded with its own football section. In 1932, Postelberg, the owner of the NORMA factory, began to build the sports complex. The complex was opened in 1933 by a championship match against SC Meteor Vratimor in which home players crushed their enemies with the result 5:0. Football had expanded even more. In May 2012, the first Beskydy football club Frýdlant nad Ostravicí made its biggest success in the history of the club when they won the silver medal from the European Championship of the unprofessional teams in Austria and thus became the vice-champion of Europe “Mountain Village European Championship”.
The football stadium has three different football pitches, one of them is with artificial grass of the third generation and with the possibility of lighting. The total capacity of the stadium is 2600, the seating capacity is 530 of it.
In the complex, there is also a Sport Hall. It is a multipurpose sports facility for indoor sports. The main part of the hall is a large gym with dimensions of 15x30m which is suitable for playing badminton (2 courts), football tennis, floorball, handball, indoor football and volleyball. The Sport Hall has also a table tennis room. There is also a gym and a non-smoking bar with a capacity of 30.
