THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH OF THE VISITATION OF THE VIRGIN MARY

This single nave building with a tower and an added vestry was built in 1875, in the style of Neoclassicism. A chapel which belonged to the cemetery formally stood on this site. This sacral building used for liturgical purposes expresses the traditions and association to the Christian culture of Europe. In the past, the church in Vlkolinec, which is a mountain village with tough conditions for permanent residents, functioned as the sole place of social contact, and as a source of strength and motivation. Significant reconstructions took place in 1941, 1950 and 2008.
