The ruins of the castle on the hill Volek

The ruins of the once well known castle are on the hill named „Volek“ in the village Kobiernice. It has been built in the begining of 14th century and it was composed of two main buildings surrounded by double mound and stone wall, which have had to fulfil the defensive function. Soon it bacames place for the knight thieves. The castle was destroyed in 1476 by Kazimier Jagiellonsky. Nowdays there are only ruins of this castle, mounds and ditchs around the ruins and remains of the quadrilateral gate.
